Protecting your front door is most important. The most common way for a burglar to enter your home is through a door. So, I will list the best ways to secure the front door to help you preserve your family and values.
1. Wireless cameras
Wireless security cameras are easier to install than the wired alternative. Many wired cameras connect to your home’s electrical system, so you’ll need to hire a professional for the installation. Wireless cameras rely on Wi-Fi or other networks. Follow the instructions, and you can set up and connect most cameras in less than 15 minutes.
Wireless security cameras are often more ideal for renters, people new to home security, or those on a budget. Not only are wireless security cameras less expensive than wired systems, but they’re easier to move and transport. Just unplug them, and you’re ready to go!
2. Keyless Door Lock
A keyless door reinforcement lock is one of my favorite door security products for several reasons: it’s cheap, easy to install, and simple to use. All you have to do is screw it to the jamb above your existing deadbolt. So installation is not a big deal and can be done in just a few minutes, even if you’re not a big fan of DIY.
A practical peephole with a wide-angle view will allow you to have an excellent overview of the situation. You should pick out the peephole with a wide range of visibility, including both left and right corners. That way, you can always check who stands in front of your door.
4.Monitored and unmonitored alarms
A monitored alarm system is highly reliable and offers supreme security and efficiency. Remember that you need to sign the contract with a provider, who is in charge of monitoring and safeguarding, before purchasing this type of alarm.
5. Motion Sensor Lights
Burglars don’t like to be in the spotlight. Although more burglaries occur during the daytime (source), you want to keep crooks as far away as possible from your home at night too.
Installing a motion sensor light above your front door is an affordable way to deter burglars. I recommend that you choose a battery or a solar-powered model so that you don’t have to bother with the wiring.
Make sure you install the light at least 10 feet high to prevent burglars from reaching and damaging it easily.
6. Door jammers
Door jammers are easy to install and practical to use. These units will protect you if someone tries to break into your home even though they are not the best possible option in the long run. Since they are portable, you won’t need the assistance of the locksmith or surveillance company.
